Productivity Matters
“Productivity isn’t everything, but, in the long run, it is almost everything” Paul Krugman
One Federal Treasurer announced, “There is no more important structural problem in our economy than productivity”. Another said “95% of productivity gains are coming from 5% of companies”. A national research agency forecast a potential 36% uplift in GDP from better decision-making practice – but it’s not happening.
Advanced economies averaged 1% productivity growth over the last 25 years. We’ve got no real plan to lift economic and social productivity.
Danny brings unique insight and perspective to this global question.
His Future Maker rating assesses and explains ‘normal-looking’ organisations who are outpacing the index by 30% compounding 25 years in row – with surprising mainstream market precedence. Is it a breakthrough pathway to ecomomic stimulation at low cost? And what are implications for boards, policy setters, economies and nations.
It suggests a future-making practice that can be learned and copied across corporate, government and community sectors to transform human productivity.
“Emerging theories of electricity did not change the underlying physics – but they did make it possible for people to build powerful high-precision equipment.”
